image US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle double shot flare gun (German WWII)

Very rare – CG Cutter Eagle Dopple Schusse (double barrel) flare gun. Was owned by LCDR  Roy M. Hutchins Jr., the Sailing Master of the WWII German war prize vessel “Horst Wessel”, now the CG Cutter Eagle. This signaling  device was an integral part of the original ship and was replaced by USCG certified signaling devices after the war. It was manufactured in 1941, serial 2617, and has the prominent German Eagle over the Swastika, with “M” denoting Maritime use. The piece is made from stainless steel and is in near excellent condition.
