US Coast Guard Sailing Master’s Binoculars – These optics were used and owned by then LCDR Roy M. Hutchins Jr., the sailing master of the WWII German war prize vessel “Horst Wessel”, now the tall ship Coast Guard Eagle. These Zeiss binoculars are still very functional and their case displays the Eagle and Swastika with “M” for Maritime use. Commander Hutchins’ calling card is in the case and this relic came from his estate via his son, Roy M. Hutchins III.
