Whale Tail Necklace, Pewter

This is a pewter replica of a scrimshaw whale tail. Five of these have been fastened together to form a beautiful ornament. The Scrimshaw whale tail used for the model was donated by The Black Whale Gallery (home to Scrimshaw artist Nancy Lyon) 

2" pewter pendant on an 18" snake chain.

The technique of replicating the exact shape of sea creatures was developed by Jeff Mitchell, a pewter smith who lives in Wellfleet, Cape Cod. All sea creatures are cast in a high grade lead-free pewter.
