14" Wooden Block

This impressive antique ship’s block once played a crucial role in the rigging of a sailing vessel. Measuring 14 inches long by 5.25 inches wide, it features a double-sheave design for handling heavy loads, with original iron fittings including a forged hook and hardware.

Crafted from solid hardwood, the block shows rich wear and patina from years of maritime service. The iron hook and axle retain their aged finish, adding to the authenticity of this rugged nautical artifact. These blocks were used to gain mechanical advantage when hoisting sails, cargo, or other heavy gear aboard ship.
