This is a vintage ceramic nautical mug featuring illustrated sailor’s knots around the flared base, including:

  • Sheet Bend

  • Double Becket Hitch

  • Rolling Hitch

  • Bowline

  • Carrick Bend

The top is glazed in deep brown with a white base, a classic style from Japanese imports of the 1970s–1980s. The bottom is covered with black felt, which likely hides the original maker’s label (commonly Otagiri, Westwood, or Treasure Craft Japan).
