Authentic antique brass maritime navigation instrument marked "Negus Patent Log." This compact ship's log was used aboard sailing vessels and yachts to assist in measuring speed and distance traveled through the water, making it an important tool of traditional marine navigation.
Manufactured by the renowned nautical instrument maker T.S. Negus, whose instruments were widely used aboard commercial, naval, and private vessels during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Constructed of brass with an original engraved dial, rotating measurement wheel, and suspension loop. An excellent display piece for collectors of maritime antiques, nautical instruments, navigation equipment, or shipboard history.
