This is an authentic vintage Perko ship’s lantern, manufactured by Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp, Brooklyn, NY. These rugged lanterns were standard equipment aboard vessels in the early to mid-20th century, used as anchor or navigation lights to meet maritime regulations.

Maker’s Mark: Original Perko brass plate still attached (worn but legible).

Lens: Large ribbed clear Fresnel glass lens with excellent age character.

Construction: Heavy galvanized steel body with protective wire cage and vented top for airflow.

Fuel/Electric: Originally kerosene/oil fueled, later fitted with an interior socket for electric use.

Size: Oversized design, makes an impressive nautical display piece.
