This authentic wooden ship’s deadeye measures 5 inches across and was once an essential part of a sailing vessel’s rigging. Deadeyes were used in sets with lanyards to tension the standing rigging that supported a ship’s masts.
Carved from solid hardwood, this example shows the classic three-hole design, with recessed rope grooves along the edges. Its smooth, timeworn surface carries the patina of years at sea, making it both a genuine maritime artifact and a handsome decorative piece.
