Rare U.S. Coast Guard–approved copper fire extinguisher canister, manufactured by Boston Supply Co. of New York. This cylindrical copper vessel was originally designed as a “fighting water light” extinguisher, meant to be suspended and activated in case of fire. These canisters were common in marine and shipboard use during the mid-20th century.

Markings: Embossed text includes “Fire Fighting Water Light – U.S.C.G. Approval – Boston Supply Co., New York” along with approval and serial numbers
Design: Cylindrical body with ring for hanging, sealed ends, internal release mechanism visible inside
Condition: Good condition, historic piece with rich patina, some oxidation and surface wear consistent with age; interior corrosion visible (see photos). Displays beautifully as-is or could be polished further
