Authentic World War II 40 mm Mk I Bofors shell, consisting of a brass case (1943) made by Cartridge Case Co. and a steel projectile (dated Oct 9 1942) with dual copper driving bands.
This shell type was used in the U.S. Navy’s 40 mm Bofors anti-aircraft guns, mounted on destroyers, cruisers, and carriers throughout WWII. These guns became iconic for their rate of fire and reliability against enemy aircraft.

• Case: “40 MM MK I LOT 37-61 MFG BY CARTRIDGE CASE CO.”
• Projectile: “K 2-10 9-42” and “LOT 11 1942 STEEL”
