This item is 34.5 inches long by 27.5 inches wide by one inch high signed, numbered, and framed lithographic collector print by John Morton Barber. This print is number 734 of 950 and comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity (CoA). The CoA is stored in an envelope attached to the back of the print.

This print depicts a typical scene once common on the Chesapeake Bay region. Shown is the buy-boat “Wm. B. Tennison” buying oysters from the skipjack “Apollo” just inside Drum Point, Maryland. The Calvert Marine Museum acquired the “Wm. B. Tennison” in 1979. The museum now uses the buy-boat to conduct leisurely sightseeing cruises on the Patuxent River and the busy Solomons inner harbor.

The artist, John Morton Barber has painted the Chesapeake Bay and the eastern seaboard for over four decades — always invoking the magic of light to provide texture to his subjects and the Chesapeake’s vanishing way of life.

This item would look lovely in your coastal or nautical décor.
