Framed Print / U.S.S. Philadelphia

The fourth USS Philadelphia (C-4) (later IX-24) was the sixth protected cruiser of the United States Navy. Although designed by the Navy Department, her hull was similar to the preceding British-designed Baltimore, but Philadelphia had a uniform main armament of twelve 6-inch guns. Mounted in a black frame w/ gold border, this print, in its frame measures 18" wide x 11-1/2" tall. Print copyrighted in1894 by J. S. Johnson. This print was also published as a supplement to the Philadelphia Press 1898.
