This Polaris, utilized as an additional tool for compasses for precise navigation was produced by E.S. Ritchie & Sons, Inc. in Brookline, Mass. This tool was sold to and used by the U.S. Navy. The inscription in the metal reads, " E.S. Ritchie & Sons, Inc. 5550 Brookline, Mass." All parts functional and moveable, comes in a wooden box.
