This beautiful antique brass oil lantern dates from the late 1800s to early 1900s and features a sturdy rectangular brass frame with clear glass panels on all four sides. Two of the panels are decorated with etched star motifs, adding both charm and character to this historic piece.
The lantern retains its original removable brass oil font and burner, still intact inside, with an access door on the front for easy refilling and lighting. A broad weighted base ensures stability, while the vented top and swing handle make it both functional and attractive.
Originally used for railway, carriage, or marine lighting, these durable lanterns were designed to withstand outdoor use while providing bright, wind-resistant illumination. Today, it makes a fantastic collector’s piece, display item, or period décor accent.
