Offered here is a finely detailed scrimshaw piece depicting a sailor climbing rigging, signed Martins. The image is etched and inked onto a whale tooth–shaped piece mounted on a hardwood display base. The craftsmanship shows intricate linework typical of mid-20th century scrimshaw, with nice shading and nautical subject matter.
The tooth is naturally curved, with a smooth polished surface, and measures approximately 7" tall and 4" wide. Mounted securely on a fitted wooden stand with felt bottom for display.

Overall very good vintage condition.
Surface shows minor natural toning and light handling wear consistent with age.
Engraving is clear and sharp.
