This is an authentic U.S. Navy silver-plated coffee or chocolate pot, used in the officers’ wardroom mess aboard ship, likely dating from the early to mid-20th century.

  • Material: Silver-plated metal with hinged lid and tapered cylindrical body

  • Details: Tall form with curved spout and black insulated side handle (likely Bakelite or ebonized wood) to resist heat

  • Markings: Inside lid stamped “1714” (inventory/pattern number)

  • Dimensions: 11.5" wide and 10" tall

  • Condition: Very good vintage condition, with surface wear and light scratches consistent with naval service use. Lid opens and closes smoothly. Retains a good shine.

These heavy-duty, silver-soldered pieces were supplied to the Navy by high-quality silversmiths such as International Silver and Reed & Barton, made to withstand daily use at sea while maintaining an elegant service presentation for officers.

A fine addition for collectors of naval memorabilia, military silver, or vintage dining ware.
