US Navy Compartment ID Plate Storage

This is a Navy bulkhead plate for a storage compartment (01-34-2).

Breakdown of the inscription:

• "01-34-2" → Compartment designation code:

  • 01 = first deck above the main deck.

  • 34 = located at or near frame 34 (ships are divided into numbered frames, like ribs).

  • 2 = second compartment off the centerline (even numbers = port side, odd numbers = starboard side).

• "STORAGE" → Description of compartment: this space was used for storage purposes.

Purpose:
